In plain words
- Buyers pay through a licensed payment gateway using UPI, cards or net banking. NefyX never sees or stores your card number or bank login.
- Payments are processed by Cashfree Payments. A creator asks for a payout, NefyX approves it, and Cashfree sends it to the creator's own bank account or UPI ID.
- Payouts go only to an account whose holder name matches the creator's PAN. We screen for fraud, scams and money laundering, and a payment or payout that looks wrong can be held, rejected or reviewed.
- If that happens we tell the person affected by e-mail and say how to resolve it, except where the law stops us from giving details.
- If a bank, court or authority freezes or places a lien on money, we follow the order and the related amount stays held until it is lifted.
This summary helps you read the document. The full text below is what applies.
01How money moves
- Checkout. The buyer pays on the payment gateway's secure page by UPI, card or net banking. The price is the creator's price; no fee is added.
- Confirmation. The gateway confirms the payment to NefyX directly. Only then is the order completed, access given and the creator's share recorded. Being returned to our site does not complete an order on its own.
- Recording. NefyX records the sale as the creator's share and the 4.5% platform fee in an append-only ledger that cannot be edited or deleted. The creator's share is the amount the creator can later ask to be paid out.
- Holds. The creator's share is held while the sale can still be refunded, and in full while a dispute or chargeback is open.
- Payout. The creator asks for a payout of the available balance in their dashboard. NefyX reviews and approves it, and the transfer is then made through Cashfree to the creator's own bank account or UPI ID. NefyX does not pay creators from a personal account.
- Refunds. An approved refund is sent back to the buyer's original payment method and reverses the ledger once the gateway confirms it.
We reconcile our records against the gateway's every day and look into any difference.
02Verifying creators
Before a creator can withdraw money they give a PAN and a bank account or UPI ID. The name on the PAN and the name of the account holder must be the same person, and we check this before approving a payout. If they do not match, the payout is not approved until the creator corrects the details. Payouts go only to an account in the creator's own name. We do not pay a third party's account, and we do not pay out to cash, prepaid cards or wallets that cannot be traced to the creator. We may ask for more documents, such as identity or business proof, at any time, and we may refuse or end the relationship where we cannot verify someone.
03Fraud, scams and money laundering
NefyX is for genuine sales of genuine things. The Platform must not be used to launder money, to receive the proceeds of crime or fraud, to move funds that are not a real sale, or to evade tax or sanctions. Indian law, including the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, and our payment partners' rules require us to take reasonable steps to prevent that.
We therefore monitor activity for patterns that suggest a problem. Examples are:
- payments that do not match a real offer, such as sales between accounts that look linked, repeated round-sum payments, or payments with no delivery;
- many failed or reversed payments, cards or accounts that appear stolen, or an unusual number of disputes;
- payout accounts that do not belong to the creator, are changed often, or fail verification;
- money arriving that a bank, a payment provider or a victim reports as obtained by fraud, or as linked to a cybercrime complaint;
- listings or conduct that break the Acceptable Use Policy.
Where we think something is wrong we may hold the related money, put a payout under compliance review, ask the person for explanations or documents, restrict or suspend the account, and report the activity to the payment gateway, a bank, the Financial Intelligence Unit, the police or another authority, as the law requires or allows. We may not be able to tell the account holder that a report has been made.
04When a payment or payout is rejected or held
A payment or payout can stop for ordinary reasons or for risk reasons. The most common are below, with what we do and what you can do.
| Situation | What happens | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| A buyer's payment fails or is declined | The bank or gateway declined it, or the buyer cancelled. The order is not completed and the hold on the seat, slot or coupon is released after a short time. | Try again or use another method. If money was debited, see the Refund Policy; it usually returns within 5 to 7 business days. |
| A buyer's payment is flagged as risky | The gateway or our checks suspect fraud, such as a stolen card. The payment may be blocked, or reversed after it was taken. | Pay with an instrument in your own name. Contact us if you think a genuine payment was blocked. |
| A payout request is rejected for details | Bank or UPI details could not be verified, or the account name does not match the profile. | Correct the payout details and ask again. We e-mail you the reason. |
| A payout is held for review | A compliance, KYC or risk review is open. The amount stays in your wallet but cannot be withdrawn yet. | Reply to our e-mail or contact support so we can finish the review. Reviews are completed as quickly as the information we need allows. |
| A payout is declined after review | We could not release it because of an unresolved review of activity on the account, or because the activity broke our rules. | Contact support. Where we are allowed to, we explain what is needed. Money that is rightfully yours is not forfeited because of a review; amounts affected by a legal order, a chargeback or fraud may be held, reversed or returned to the person entitled. |
| A sale is under dispute or chargeback | The creator's share of that sale is held in full while the dispute is open. | Respond to our requests for evidence. When the dispute closes, the money is released or returned according to the outcome. |
05Freezes, liens and legal orders
Sometimes money cannot move because someone with legal power says so: a court, the police or an investigating agency, a tax authority, a bank, the payment gateway or the card networks. Typical cases are an order to freeze or place a lien on funds that are said to be the proceeds of a cybercrime or fraud complaint, a request to hold money while a chargeback is decided, or a request from the victim's bank to return funds.
- We comply with a valid order or request. We hold the related amount, up to the amount covered, and we may be asked to return it to the sender.
- We tell the affected creator by e-mail what we are allowed to say, and who has issued the order if we are permitted to name them.
- NefyX cannot lift a freeze that an authority or bank has imposed. The person affected must resolve it with that authority, using the reference we give. Once we receive written confirmation that it is lifted, we release the money.
- If funds in a creator's wallet have to be returned to a victim or a bank, they are debited from the wallet and recorded in the ledger.
- If a freeze or lien is placed on money that NefyX has already paid out, the creator is responsible for dealing with it, and we may recover from the creator's wallet any amount a bank or authority then claims from us.
06Chargebacks and recovery
A chargeback happens when a buyer's bank reverses a card or UPI payment. We contest it where the purchase was delivered as described, using the records we hold. If it is lost, the amount and any gateway penalty are recovered from the creator who made the sale: first from the held share of that sale, then from the wallet, and if the wallet is not enough, from future earnings, and, where necessary, by claiming it from the creator directly. Creators with an unusual rate of chargebacks or refunds may have payouts slowed or accounts restricted.
07Payment security
- Card, UPI and net-banking details are entered on the payment gateway's own secure pages. NefyX does not receive or store full card numbers, CVV or bank passwords.
- Payment notices from the gateway are accepted only when their signature checks out, and each one is processed once even if it is delivered twice.
- Digital files are served by short-lived links after a payment check.
- Payout and restriction tools are used only by the operator and every use is written to an audit log that cannot be changed.
